This was the first Atomic City Audionerdz listening party. A bunch of us have been getting into DIY, mostly via the bottlehead kits, and wanted to get together to listen to everyone's equipment all at once. We had lots of gear of all kinds, and the consensus was basically that none of our speakers were efficient enough for the low power 2a3 and triode mode 6v6 amplifiers *in this room*. We ended up running with a big mama Phase Linear sand amp to overcome this problem. Also, the tastes of the group left most people wanting a bit more bass from just about everything. The big 3ways have seperate binding posts for the NHT 1259, so we ran that as a subwoofer with most of the other speakers, and that seemed to satisfy the group :)

Overall it was a fun day, and I personally am very glad to have some co-conspirators in this DIY game. Due to my scheduling the party for a 3 day weekend, many folks could not make it, so we will have to have another one soon. Stay tuned!
